Forklift

This course specifies the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift truck safely. Forklift truck means a powered industrial truck equipped with lifting media made up of a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other arms that can be raised 900 mm or more above the ground, but does not include a pedestrian-operated truck or a pallet truck. Participants must be from 18 years of age and comply with the requirements outlined in the application for High Risk Work (GF083) published by WorkSafe Tasmania.

Dangerous Goods by Road - North / North West TAS

The Dangerous Goods Drivers Licence focuses on the Australian Code for the transport of Dangerous Goods Code by Road & Rail seventh edition (ADG7). This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to obtain a dangerous goods (DG) driver licence to transport DG by road. It covers all aspects of the Code, providing comprehensive information about the state and territory regulatory requirements, and includes the major changes from ADG6. The responsibilities of all parties in the transport chain are included. Course content includes identification and handling, safety precautions and equipment, and compliance with the statutory requirements. Participants must have a full Driver’s Licence (Provisional licence not acceptable) and comply with the requirements outlined in the application for a Dangerous Goods Licence published by Work Safe Tasmania.

Chain of Responsibility (non accredited)

This course will enable participants how to identify, apply and follow chain of responsibility legislation, regulations and workplace procedures in relation to heavy vehicles as they apply to an individual’s own job role. The course includes explaining the chain of responsibility features: a. every party in the supply chain has a ‘duty’ to ensure safe practices rather than being liable for breaches detected; b. applying the requirements; c. identify and report breaches in the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and regulations or applicable state/territory law and regulations.

Professional Log Truck Driver Program

The Tasmanian Forest Industries Professional Log Truck Driver Program includes a group theory session followed by an in-field practical driving appraisal and observation of load security practices. This program has been developed after consultation with key parties in the forest industries and is designed to support log truck drivers to develop and apply safe and professional practices for driving and load security.
