This Motor Cycle Bridging Course is mandatory following changes to the Tasmanian Licences Laws and is mandatory for those who obtained their Learners Licence after 28 February 2017 (NW and Sth) and 31 July (North). The Bridging Course will assist riders to develop the higher order riding skills to progress under the new training and curriculum activities (check ride and pre-provisional test). This course will expire 30 September 2018 for NW and Sth participants and 31 Jan 2019 for Nth participants.
The additional training will look to address the top five motorcycle road crashes in Tasmania and will involve strategies for safe riding, a simulated road ride (off-road assessment on the training pad) and an on-road assessment.
It will be designed around day two of the new pre-learner motorcycle training course and will expand on the training you received in the existing pre-learner course.
This course must be successfully completed prior to undertaking the Check Ride assessment.
You must wear long pants, long sleeve shirt or jacket and sturdy shoes or boots, in fact “full skin coverage” is required or you cannot train. We supply helmet, cotton gloves and wet weather gear if needed.
Please note that the course will proceed regardless of weather. Trainer discretion will apply in Winter.
Use of your own Motorcycle, you must bring proof of registration and 3rd Party Insurance on the day.
As lunch is not provided, we recommend that you bring your own lunch and a cool drink.
